Symptom

You have uploaded files to the /httpdocs or /[domainname] directory, but when you enter the web address in your web browser, a Bitpalace page is displayed.

Cause

There are several possible causes for this behavior:

a) When a domain is created in the customer control panel, a default page index.php is automatically inserted. If you upload your website and your homepage is index.html, the web server will not know whether it should deliver index.php or index.html as a homepage. It will prefer index.php as most web projects are PHP based.

b) The domain name was routed to the host computer correctly in DNS, but in your customer control panel the domain entry is missing. If the host is requested to server a domain for that it does not know a configuration, it will refer the request to a default page outside the domain.

c) Maybe you have registered several similar domain names and your website has not been uploaded to the correct domain directory. It would be displayed under the correct domain name directory.

Solution

For a) If the homepage of your website is index.html, delete the default index.php file that was created upon domain directory creation.

For b) Check whether the domain in the web browser and the customer control panel are spelled correctly. You may need to correct the domain configuration in the customer control panel.

For c) Check whether the domain that you have entered into the web browser is really identical to the one that you have uploaded your content to.
